Apple for the Teacher 2011

AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR 2011

The Apple for the Teacher project is designed to assist a public, private or parochial music classroom teacher from grades kindergarten through eighth grade. It is a $300 award given to nominated teachers by a WFMC Senior Club member. The awarded funds are to go toward needs in their classroom, such as instrument repair, tuning, music, transportation to concerts, etc. The Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs is delighted to announce their winners for this year. Ten $300 awards went out to the following teachers:

  • Leisha Smith of St. Joan of Arc Parish School in Nashotah
  • Betty Brown of Holy Trinity School in Okauche
  • Vickie Marshall of Dousman Elementary in Dousman
  • Debora Lynn Meyer of Banting Elementary School in Waukesha
  • Jane Neujahr of Zion Lutheran School in Hartland
  • Tammy Carley of Barron Riverview Middle School in Barron
  • Tricia Kelley of St. Thomas Agninas School in Waterford
  • Carol Moore of Salem Grade School in Salem
  • Jackie Gerlach of Christ the Lord School in Brookfield
  • Soma Pierce-Smit of South Middle School in Eau Claire

Congratulations go to these teachers for winning the award and for the fine work they do to further the musical education of our youth.
